Toronto to host the 2015 Pan / American Games

The city of Toronto, Canada was chosen to host the 2015 Pan / Parapan American Games. The decision was made today of the Pan American Sports Organization (Paso) in Guadalajara, Mexico. “We are delighted,” said Toronto 2015 Bid Chairman, the Hon. David Peterson.

“We want in particular Paso, Paso President, Mario Vasquez Rana thanks for their trust in us and allowing us this great honor. We work hard for the best Pan Am Games ever stage.”

The Pan-American Games are one of the premium amateur athletic competitions in the world. Toronto in 2015 is expected to attract 10,000 participants and 250,000 visitors from 42 participating countries in North, South and Central America and the Caribbean.

“We Paso families and athletes from America and the Caribbean to Toronto in 2015,” said Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty. “In fact, hopefully they will continue for several weeks in a province that provides non-stop fun and excitement of summer to enjoy.”
