Late Bob Hayesenters into Hall of Fame
Posted by admin in star Hayes on January 31st, 2009
Hayes used to be very popular with his fans and NFL teams. He was part
of active games from 1965 to 1975. He passed away in 2002. He entered
into Pro Football Hall of Fame this year. He thanked everyone through
his sister, as he had written a statement before he died, hoping that
his day will come. Like him another player from the past, Thomas also
entered into Hall of Fame. It is nice to see old and bright players of
the past getting their due recognition and a name in the history
books. These players will be remembered for their contribution to the
game and its legacy.
Romero Suspended for 50 Games
Posted by admin in star romero on January 6th, 2009
Romero was tested positive for banned substances and MLB has suspended
him for first 50 games this year. There was controversy over this
particular substance as player’s association felt it was permissible
and the case was referred for arbitration hearing. MLB and officials
have not been too harsh on Romero despite being found guilty. He is
being held responsible for being negligent. He is being suspended
along with monetary penalties. Romero plays for Philadelphia Phillies.
Romero feels punishment is harsh and unfair. 50 Games suspension is
too much to take for any player in top season. Romeo is expected to
return to MLB scene soon after that. Fans feel Romero would emerge
stronger after this controversy is over.
